Demonstration in Visual Arts Department 

The Department of Visual Arts conducted a graphic and print making demonstration on January 18th & 19th, 2007. Shri Subroto Mandal, a gold medalist in graphics from Shanti Niketen, presently working with the Department of Fine Arts, University of Rajasthan, was the guest. He enlightened the students with his knowledge and expertise in the field of art. The session was completely interactive and practical based. He also displayed his own creations and exposed the students to the world of art and creativity.


ASPSM activity 

The Department of ASPSM (Advertising, Sales Promotion and Sales Management) organized a presentation on ‘Ad-Copy’ on 17th January 2007. The presentation was made by Ms. Himani Singh (Asstt. Professor, Dept. of Business Administration, ICG). She explained the basic concepts of print ‘Ad- Copy’ so as to enhance the knowledge and creativity of the students.

The beneficiaries included the students from the departments of ASPSM as well MJMC (Master of Journalism and Mass Communication)


Industry Visit

The students of the Departments of ASPSM (Advertising, Sales Promotion and Sales Management) and MIB (Master of International Business) went for a visit to J C fashions, an export house that exports apparels to Japan and Germany. The house has two manufacturing units in Jaipur.

Mr. Anjan Choudhary, the Director of the export house, acquainted the students with different aspects of export management. The students visited both the units of this firm.

The visit was coordinated by Ms. Ankita Gangwal (Asstt. Prof., Dept. of MIB) and Ms. Richa Yadav (Asstt. Prof. Dept. of ASPSM) . The visit was a learning experience for the students of both the departments as they learnt the practical aspects of international business including manufacturing, promotion and international trade policies.


Dept. of Political Science

The Dept. of Political Science organized a guest lecture by Dr. Sheila Rai, Asstt. Prof., Department of Political Science, University of Rajasthan, on the 25th of November 2006. The lecture dealt with the special features of the Constitution of India, the reasons for it being unique in the world and the way this supreme law of the land has acted as the guardian of the citizens’ rights and liberties. The lecture dealt at length with the basic ideals incorporated in the Indian Constitution and the way they have been enforced. The beneficiaries included all the students of the department, Pass Course and Honours. The students found the talk enriching.


Dept. of Economics

The Dept. of Economics organized a debate on the topic: ‘Globalization – A bane for developing economies like India’. There were nine participants in all. Akanksha Rathore, BA-I was adjudged first, Megha Sharma BA-I stood second and Shanu Shukla, BSc. –II begged the third position. Prizes were given away by Ms. Nisha Yadav, Head Dept. of Sociology.

The Department of Clothing and Textiles

 

The Department of Clothing and Textiles is organizing a four-day workshop on ‘Eco-friendly Natural Dyes’  which commences from 20th November in association with Weaver Service Centre. The students will learn the application of natural dyeing and printing in this workshop.


 
BBA Activity - Group Discussion

A group discussion on the topic “Leaders are born or developed” was organized by Mr. Sharad Garg, Head, Department of BBA, for the students of BBA Part II. All the students participated actively in the discussion and exchanged their ideas and viewpoints on the topic. The discussion was concluded by Ms. Gunjan Goyal.


IGNOU Induction Programme

Ms. Mamta, Executive Regional head, Indira Gandhi National Open University oriented the students enrolled in Masters Programme in M.Sc Dietetics about the course structure and requirements at ICG, the chosen centre of IGNOU for this Masters course.


 
FASHION SKETCHING COMPETITION

  

A Fashion Sketching Competition was organised on Oct. 09, 2006 by Department of GPEM. Students participated and presented their creativity in designing.

A theme – (Dance of Freaky Circles) was given to the students in which different ideas and imaginations were implemented on the sheets. Students used their artistic skills and creative abilities in the designing and sketching that completely covered the theme.

ICG team participated in the Inter College Tournament:
ICG team participated in the Inter College Tournament in Basketball & Volleyball held in Raj. Instt. Of Engg. Bhakrota ,Jaipur from 25-26 September and Table Tennis Tournament ICG team got 4th Position held in Shankara Engg. College, Kukas from 25-27 September.  

   

Inter College Swimming Championship Hosted ICG 1st - 2nd Sept. , 2006, IIIM Pool

Swimming - Overall Champion Christina - Individual Champions Christina Selected & Represented All India Inter University swimming championship held at chandigarh , and also represented Rajasthan state. Open National swimming championship held at Bangalore 22 - 27 Sept., 2006.

Gourmet 2006-Inter-House Cookery Competition

 

The Inter House Cuisine Competition – Gourmet 2006 was organised at ICG this year highlighting flavours from around the world with the four houses competing in International Cuisine. The judges for the day – Chef Dinkar Sardesai from The Rajputana Sheraton Palace, Mr Samir Gupta, International Gourmet and Restaurateur and Ms. Mini Verma, Dessert Specialist selected the Coral House as the winning team for their Italian menu and presentation. Emerald House (Chinese Cuisine) bagged the second prize and Sapphire came in third with its Continental offering while Pearl House presented Mexican food.


Department of Botany – Seminar Presentation

 

A Seminar Presentation Competition was organized in the Department of Botany, ICG on the 26TH of August, 2006.

Students presented their slide shows and seminar speeches on various topics such as Plant Tissue Culture, Molecular Biology, Antisense RNA, GM Crops and Plant Physiology, etal. 

Neha Sharma and Snigdha Singh were adjudged the joint Winners while Parul Sharma’s presentation bagged the Second place. Consolation Prizes were awarded to Shikha and Seema Sharma and Meena was commended for the Best Effort.


NSS VISIT :

 

On the 8th of September, 2006 the two National Service Scheme units of the International College for Girls visited the ‘Basti’ - Dadabari which they have adopted and presented a Nukkad Natak on the topic of female literacy in the ‘Basti’ as well as in the college campus.


T-shirt Designing Contest : - The Fabric of Life

 

Judged by Ms. Amita Sharma – NIFD and Ms. Yogakshi – Fashion Designer (Siyaram Textiles), the Inter-house T-shirt design contest “Fabric of Life” had three participants from each house. The winners for the day were Tahira Banu BVA III - Emerald, Manisha Gupta BVA IV - Coral and Tina Sarawgi BA III – Emerald.

The First Departmental Activity - A Paper Reading Session was held on 01st sep’ 06 in the A.V. Hall at 11.00 AM. Kriti - 2006 (Annual Mehandi Competition)

 

Complementing the feel of the season, International College for Girls organised a Mehandi Competition 'Kriti 2006'. More than 75 students participated and created beautiful designs expressing the festivity of the season.

The enthusiastic students greeted the festivity of Sawan in their own special Mehandi way under the banner of N.S.S. College unit & ICG Rotract Club. Judges Ms. Renu Dandia, Mr. Shwet Goyal and Ms. Sunetra Dutt selected Nainpragya Kothari & Preeti Soni as winners. The second position was bagged by Sonal Talwar, Girija Tanwar & Ritika Gupta. Sheetal Chitlangia, Priya Goenka & Sudesh Kanwar  stood third. Consolation prizes were given to Nisha Kumari, Priyanka Jain, Vidhi Sharma & Mayuri Jain.


PG DEBATE

       

The Annual Inter-House Debate for Post Graduate students was held on 29th August 2006. The topic for the day was “Hypocrisy takes you further than Honesty” and the judges had a tough time selecting the winners from the brilliant orators but finally Divya Kumari – M.A.Final (Psychology) was adjudged the winner. Jyotsana Singh – M.J.M.C Final and Mansi Mathur – M.A.Final (GPEM) bagged the second and third positions respectively.
