The International
College for Girls, Jaipur, in collaboration with Rural Non-Farm
Development Agency, conducted 30 days training programme on
Durri weaving in Amet, Rajsamand.
The Programme was
initiated on 1st July, 2009 and completed on 30th
July, 2009. The main aim of this design training was to impart
skill and to develop new designs in durrie weaving. The
programme aims to provide supplementary source of income to the
rural women to improve their socio-economic conditions.
The broad
objectives of the training programme were:

To develop
entrepreneurial skill among the rural unemployed female.

To produce
marketable articles by using local resources and

To generate
employment and improve the economic conditions of the rural
poor by creating self-reliance amongst the people.
