Guest Lecture - Mass production of plants by Micropropagation techniques

A Guest lecture was organized by the Dept of Biotechnology on 09^th April’10. The guest Dr. Yogesh T Jasrai spoke on “Mass production of plants by Micropropagation techniques”. Dr. Yogesh T Jasrai is a fellow of Indian Botanical Society, Indian society of Agricultural Biochemists, Gujarat Science Academy and Indian association for Air Pollution Control. He has taught various aspects of plant sciences for over 14 yrs in the department of botany, the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara.

Dr. Jasrai is an active researcher and has worked in the field of plant tissue culture, floristic surveys and environment through funded projects from GFSC- Baroda, DBT- New Delhi, Forest dept. Govt. of Gujarat and many others. He was conferred prestigious Hiralal Chakravarty award in botany by ISCA kolkata.

The lecture was attended by students of M.Sc Microbiology, Biotechnology and Botany. It was followed by interaction of students with Dr. Jasrai on various aspects of plant Tissue culture and current trends in the field of plant biotechnology.
