What better gift for the children of an educational institution on the Teachers’ Day when their own “Sir” gets honoured with the CBSE National Teachers’ Award! With an array of prestigious honours till date, Dr. Ashok Gupta says, “Awards don’t excite me anymore! But for sure, a feeling of fulfillment floats around whenever I am able to add a golden feather to the institution’s cap.” He adds, “It gives my children a high and that keep me going on and on…” Dr. Ashok Gupta, Principal, India International School, has been honoured by Central Board of Secondary Education with the National Teachers’ Award 2003 for his outstanding contribution in the field of education. He received the award from Sh. Arjun Singh, Human Resource Development Minister, at a grand award function organized at the India International Centre, Delhi on 4th September 2004. The award comprised a Merit Certificate, Shawl and a cash prize of Rs.25000/-. Dr. Ashok Gupta has made the State proud being the only selected Awardee from the Ajmer Region of CBSE. He is one of the 12 teachers having been honoured from all the CBSE affiliated schools of 20 countries including 6700 from India. Dr. Ashok Gupta was also honoured with the National Award for teachers by the Govt. of India and State Award for Teachers by the Govt. of Rajasthan in the year 1988. Sh.M.A.A.Faatmi, State Minister for Human Resource Development and Sh. B.S. Baswan, Secretary, Education, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India was also present to grace the occasion.
