The campus
of India International School, Mansarovar vibrated with
pride and patriotism on the nostalgic occasion of this
red-letter day. The festivities commenced on a musical
patriotic note in the presence of the entire IIS
fraternity and all the stakeholders. Everyone made their
presence not only to celebrate this proud day but also
to pay a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth
anniversary. The entire school premises was resplendent
in the shades of the ever flying proudly- tricolor.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the tricolor-
the pride of Nation by the revered school Director, Mr.
Ashok Gupta. It was followed by the spectacular NCC
drill led by the parade commander Cadet Sergeant Chitra
Nathawat intensifying the grandeur and solemnity of the
occasion and spreading the message amongst youngsters to
join armed forces to serve the nation.
The drill was succeeded by the march past displayed by
the CBSE & International Wing school Houses and was a
perfect combination of the body, mind & soul; an epitome
of discipline, hard work & meticulous practice sessions;
an exemplary show of rhythm & coordination. The power
and energy exhibited by youngsters was be filling to the
occasion and arced their commitment and dedication and
assured of a brighter future ahead. The N.C.C. band of
the school followed the march past playing a note which
reverberated with the feelings of patriotism. The
IISians’ Zumba aerobic moves stole the show and not only
promoted the need to stay fit and healthy but also gave
momentum to the PM’s Khelo India campaign.
Taking the importance of Healthy Body ahead, the
students of IIS University gave a Yoga performance to
highlight its miraculous benefits. A street play ‘Matdan
Badlav Ki Pehchan’ was also performed which showcased
the importance of voting. IIS Sitapura showcased the
fusion with a difference- a musical drill performance
displaying the diversity of our beloved country and
praying for the prosperity of our country through a song
making all feel proud to be Indians.
The school Director, in his speech urged the audience to
uphold the honor, integrity, dignity and uniqueness of
our nation. A vote of thanks was tabled by the Anchors
in the end. Students savored the sweets distributed on
the occasion thus bringing the celebration to an end,
but not the pride.
