Four B.Ed. students of IIERD along with five
teaching faculties got the unique opportunity to be a part of the five
day TEACH BIG online workshop on Tech Tools for Teaching and Learning
conducted online from 3/08/200 to 7/08/2020 by Peet Memorial Training
College, Kerala for all the teachers and teacher aspirants from all over
India. The five-day workshop recorded an overwhelming registration of
more than 1610 participants. The resource person of the workshop was Mr.
Ajith Kumar C, Asst. Professor, School of Education, IGNOU, New Delhi.
The workshop was conducted in online mode and was supported with online
discussions and daily assignments for the participants. The various
topics covered during this five-day workshop included sessions on Online
Teaching with the use of various teaching platforms and tech tools such
as Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom, Moodle, OBS Studio, Whiteboard ,
MSOffice, Canva, Audacity, Screencast-o-matic, Open Shot, H5P, Animaker,
Google Form, Kahoot, Blogger, Tumblr, etc. Given the digital
transformation countries around the world are going through, learning
these tech tools was a much coveted differentiator for the teacher
aspirants to stand out from the crowd and invest in a better and
brighter teaching career.
At the end of the workshop, e-certificates were issued to all the
participants who successfully submitted the assignments provided during
the entire workshop. The five-day workshop was a wonderful and enriching
experience for the participating students of IIERD as it helped them
enrich their existing skillset through the value addition of tech
skills.
