R.I.D.E. at IIIM: Riding the Road of Resilience, Responsibility and Safety
Jaipur, 26 September 2026:
The International School of Informatics & Management Technical Campus (IIIM), Jaipur, in collaboration with Indian Maverick Riders, organised R.I.D.E. – IIIM Indian Mavericks Ride on Saturday, 26 September 2026. The initiative brought together the passion of riding with powerful conversations on resilience, integrity, discipline, endurance and responsible road culture.
The event was supported by IIIMAA (IIIM Alumni Association), COPE (Counselling and Outreach for Peer Empowerment), an initiative of Mpower by Aditya Birla Education Trust, and the Samutthan Cell of NSS (National Service Scheme).
The event was conceived not merely as a celebration of biking, but as an endeavour to highlight the mindset behind responsible riding. The acronym R.I.D.E. represented Resilience, Integrity, Discipline and Endurance, with the central message: ‘Resilience in Mind. Responsibility on the Road.’
The programme commenced with an engaging Panel Discussion on Resilience, featuring eight distinguished panellists from diverse professional backgrounds, moderated by Mr. Vijay Batra, Partner, P&Y India, Co-Founder of Indian Maverick and proud alumnus of IIIM.
The discussion brought together experiences from healthcare, banking, entrepreneurship, hospitality, the armed forces, motorcycle customisation, modelling and holistic wellness, demonstrating how the lessons of riding can extend far beyond the road.
Dr. Naresh Goyal, Owner of Dr. Naresh Goyal Orthopaedic Hospital, shared an inspiring perspective on pursuing one's passion irrespective of age. Having started biking at the age of 50, he emphasised that taking care of oneself and one's bike are equally important. His message reinforced the idea that age is just a number and every individual should pursue a passion, particularly while entering a new phase of life.
Mr. Mohammed Muzahid Qureshi, Deputy Manager, Punjab National Bank, spoke about the importance of responsibility, freedom and resilience in a rider's life. Reflecting on his journey from Kargil to Padum, he recalled an accident in which his bike was damaged and he suffered a leg injury. The encouragement extended by fellow bikers helped him regain confidence and look at the challenge differently. His experience led to a powerful observation: resilience is not about having problems; it is about one's approach to problems. He also emphasised the responsibility of riders towards themselves, their families and fellow riders.
Mr. Vijay Batra, while steering the discussion, highlighted the importance of resilience, relationship management and time management. His observations reflected how the biking community can create meaningful relationships and opportunities while simultaneously teaching riders to manage time and responsibilities effectively.
Mr. Vikrant Kapoor, Co-Founder of Indian Maverick, Hotelier, Jeweller and Land Developer from Karnal, connected riding with the essence of resilience. He explored what makes a bike exciting and explained that resilience is the ability to bounce back, come back and fight back. He also stressed that riding brings with it responsibility and discipline, while the community of bikers often develops into a supportive family.
Col. Raman Dahda, Retired Army Officer and Veteran of the Indian Army, brought the values of military discipline and experience to the conversation. Recalling KBRTZ as his first bike, he spoke about the attraction of the expansive riding experience and his renewed engagement with biking after retirement. He emphasised that while modern motorcycles are highly capable, riders too need competence, along with protective gear and the ability to anticipate situations, particularly on highways.
Mr. Rakesh Singh Rathore, Owner of Kunwar Customs and XPLO, focused strongly on safety and enjoying the ride without allowing the rush in one's mind to take control. Sharing his passion for motorcycle design and extreme customisation, he reflected on his journey from starting as a mechanic to becoming a recognised figure in the biking and automobile space. His expertise has also led to invitations from automobile companies such as Royal Enfield and BMW India for their events.
Ms. Shveta Dahda, Mrs India 2022, Model and Actor, reinforced the message that safety must always come first. She emphasised that the glamour associated with biking should never overpower the importance of protective gear and responsible riding.
Dr. Deepam Sharma, Ph.D. in Mass Communication & Journalism, Yoga and Holistic Wellness Expert, Motivational Speaker, Relationship Coach, Social Activist and Model, brought the conversation towards emotional balance and mental well-being. She highlighted the importance of maintaining emotional balance as a biker and becoming increasingly responsible with growing age, thereby connecting physical safety with psychological and emotional well-being.
The diverse perspectives converged on a common message: riding is not merely about the machine or the destination; it is about discipline, awareness, responsibility, community and the ability to face challenges with resilience.
Following the panel discussion, the event moved from reflection to action with a dedicated Road Safety Awareness Session and Rider Briefing by Dr. Sahil Singhal.
The session focused on safe riding practices, road awareness and the responsibilities of riders, reinforcing the principle that the excitement of riding must always be accompanied by caution, preparedness and respect for fellow road users.
The message was clear: a great ride is not simply about reaching the destination, but about reaching it safely and responsibly.
The programme then moved towards the Flag-Off Ceremony, scheduled at 12:10 PM, where the Indian Maverick Riders prepared to take the message of resilience and road safety from the auditorium to the streets.
With helmets on and engines ready, the flag-off marked the transition from conversation to action, culminating in the R.I.D.E. Bike Rally.
The event successfully brought together passion for riding, professional experiences and a strong message of road safety, creating an engaging platform where the road became a metaphor for life's challenges. From starting a passion at 50 to overcoming accidents, from military discipline to motorcycle customisation, and from emotional balance to community support, the panel offered varied yet interconnected perspectives on resilience.
R.I.D.E. at IIIM ultimately conveyed one powerful message: resilience begins in the mind, responsibility travels with us on the road, and every journey becomes meaningful when we learn to ride through challenges with discipline, courage and care.
