IIIMAA Squad Select 2026: Alumni Return to Campus to Discover Tomorrow’s Leaders

10 October 2026 | IIIM Campus

From evaluating applications to testing quick thinking under pressure, IIIMAA Squad Select 2026 brought alumni and students together for a unique experience in leadership, learning and mentorship.

The International School of Informatics & Management (IIIM) organised IIIMAA Squad Select 2026, a structured selection initiative to identify the next Student Volunteer Team of the IIIM Alumni Association (IIIMAA).

Students from the MBA, BCA, BBA and MCA programmes participated in a rigorous, multi-stage selection process, with alumni taking centre stage as judges, interviewers and mentors throughout the evaluation.

Beyond Applications: A Selection Process with Purpose

The process began with systematic screening and scoring of student applications. Each applicant received a personalised evaluation sheet incorporating their profile, initial screening score and questions tailored to their responses. This ensured that every interaction was meaningful, individualised and fair.

The next stage brought an exciting twist.

Think Fast. Plan Smart. Lead Better.

In a real-world simulation exercise, students were challenged to design an alumni event within a fixed budget and a tight deadline. Just when their plans seemed ready, the alumni judges introduced unexpected disruptions — a cancelled chief guest, a sudden budget cut or another last-minute challenge.

Students had to rethink, adapt and respond on the spot, demonstrating creativity, resourcefulness, planning skills and decision-making under pressure.

The alumni panel judged each simulation, evaluating how effectively students planned, prioritised resources, handled uncertainty and responded to unexpected situations. Their real-world industry experience brought an added dimension to the exercise, transforming it into a practical test of leadership and problem-solving.

When Experience Meets Aspiration

Following the simulation, the alumni also conducted personal interviews, engaging students in focused conversations to assess their communication skills, confidence, leadership potential, initiative, commitment and emotional quotient.

The distinguished alumni panel, representing entrepreneurship, finance, technology, marketing, design, human resources and other industries, comprised:

  • Ms. Apoorva Bharadwaj — Co-Founder, Maktubi Jewellery
  • Mr. Manan Tholia — Marketing Lead, Celebal Technologies
  • Mr. Hemant Doraya — Owner, Sakshi Textile
  • Mr. Kartik Sharma — Consultant, MediaBrush LLP
  • Mr. Sachin Maheshwari — State Head – Rajasthan, Radio Mirchi 98.3
  • Ms. Aditi Sharma — Deutsche Bank
  • Mr. Vaibhav Birla — Co-Founder, Gbirla Group of Industries
  • Mr. Sameer Jain — Senior UI/UX Designer, Cyntexa
  • Ms. Priyanka Vijay — Senior HR Executive, Nine Degree
  • Mr. Himanshu Sharma — Channel Manager, Hinduja Housing Finance
  • Mr. Ritesh Kumar Kumawat — Co-Founder, Rvirat Wealth LLP
  • Dr. Shikha Pareek Joshi — Founder, Baatcheet

Using a standardised scoring framework, alumni evaluated students across both the simulation and interview stages, ensuring a fair, consistent and transparent selection process.

The involvement of alumni throughout these stages was a defining feature of the initiative, bringing professional perspectives and real-world expectations directly into the student experience.

More Than a Selection. An Experience That Matters.

For many participating students, this was their first opportunity to be evaluated and interviewed by industry professionals — an invaluable experience that offered exposure to workplace expectations, strengthened confidence and provided meaningful preparation for future placements and professional interactions.

For IIIMAA, the initiative laid the foundation for a committed Student Volunteer Team selected through a transparent, merit-based process.

For IIIM, the event reflected something even more meaningful: the strength of an alumni community that continues to invest in the institution long after graduation.

Former students returned not merely as judges and interviewers, but as mentors — sharing professional insights, recognising potential, encouraging emerging talent and contributing to the growth of the next generation.

The alumni panel also shared constructive feedback and recommendations to make future editions of Squad Select even more impactful.

The selected IIIMAA Student Volunteer Team will be announced shortly.

IIIMAA Squad Select 2026 was not simply about choosing volunteers. It was about creating opportunities, nurturing leadership and strengthening the bond between those who once walked the corridors of IIIM and those who are now preparing to shape its future.
